Makes me want to never buy a car ever again!!!
The guy I dealt with was new and nobody was helping him, or even training him on how to fill out the paperwork. He would stop and keep walking away to ask questions. We had to fill the paperwork several times because he kept messing it up. Then when that ordeal was over with another ordeal came my way. I traded my car in and then 2 weeks pass I called in the financing bank and they still had not payed off the loan. I call them in and then they tell me that the paperwork I had filled that day was incorrect and I never got a phone call to inform me. Had to drive all the way back out to Duluth where apparently they had moved their dealership and never informed me. Signed the paperwork. I was feeling hopeful. The financial guy informed me that he would make a payment the next day so I was happy. Come to find out a week later my car was still not payed off. Pissed off i called the manager and he was no help. Instead off trying to listen to my complaint and assure me everything would be okay. He said it could have been my fault on the paperwork. The one month that I have owned this car and I still haven’t gotten a tag letter!!! I feel like I’m doing all this work for this brand new car that I just want to return and shove up their ***. I am really disappointed in this place and I will forever stay away from Rick Case anything. And I haven’t even mentioned the service department that made me drive 45 min to get a new car checkup only to tell me to come back the next day!!!
I just don’t understand a manager that tells a customer that they could be the cause of the problem when I know for a fact they promised me 90 days to the first payment and I ended up with 45 when I had to resign.
So disappointed!!!!!!! I reccomend stay away and save the headache.
What a bunch of losers. The worst experience ever for buying a car. I went in late one night after spending all weeked on the phone with Michael and Marvin regarding getting financed.
I was allowed to leave with the car that I was told was a done deal at 10:30pm, only to be called 3 days later to be informed that the deal was going to go through.
I went back to Rick Case Mazda to find out what could be done to get the financing approve. After a couple of hours with Cleo Ricks and Chris Whiten, and $1500 down payment, I was told that the deal was done. I would be contacted by the bank to verify current employment.
I was contacted by the bank, but the deal was never financed. After submitting and third round of documents to Rick Case Mazda (and almost 2 months later) the deal was going to go through.
Now they are trying to keep $1300 of my $1500 down payment. They are charging me for miles on the car and $25 per day. I was never informed – written or verbal – regarding any $25 fee. If so, I would have left the car on their lot until the deal went through.
Car dealers are known for dishonesty, but these people really take the cake.
Hope they all rot in hell.
Hey Folks wanted to let everyone know about my expierence at Rick Case Mazda. I called about an 05 Mazda Tribute that they had listed on their website for the special internet sales price of $9990.00. I talked to Will Barnes who turned out to be a manager and he said they had the vehicle and we arranged for me to come and look at it. In the meantime, I did my research and found out that the KBB price for a 05 Mazda Tribute is around $8400 in excellent condition. Im not quite sure how a vehicle that is 7 years old could be considered excellent! Edmunds stated that the true market value is $7423. Anyway I drove 35 miles one way to see the vehicle. When I got to the dealership a salesman had to find Will Barnes. After a few minutes I was introduced to Will, who within 30 seconds shoved me off to another salesman named Brian Nowlin (this ticked me off due to the fact that Will told me to ask for him when I got there). We talked about the price and I showed Will KBB price. He looked it up on KBB as well to confirmed roughly the same price that I found earlier ($8400). We went for a test drive and I liked the vehicle for the most part. I did notice that the vehicle had a few scratches and a ding or two also the dash around the radio was worn (far from excellent). Then we came in and he asked me to make him a offer. I offered $7500 which did not include the $599.00 doc fee (a scam) and the title fee of $19.00. Which with sales tax would run the price up close to $8800.00. Brian took my offer to the sales manager to see what could be done. After about 10 minutes Brian came back and said that the dealerships cost to own the vehicle was $9500.00 (pure Bull). I thought wow the dealership claims that they have $9500.00 in the vehicle when it retails for between $7400-$8400. Im still trying to figure out how a business can put more money into a car then what it is worth. I also noticed on the window sticker in the vehicle that the KBB price was $12900.00, which is pure Bull! Even Brian could not explain the high price even after he looked it up on KBB s website. I notice on the Carfax that the vehicle was purchased at an Auction. Back when I worked in the service department of a car dealership they would buy cars at Auctions for about half of what they retailed for. They would list them at retail so that they could double their money. Everyone should know that a dealership makes more money on used cars then on new cares. Needless to say I walked out of Rick Case Mazda with a bad taste in my mouth. Please stay away from them, they are trying to rip people off on their priced. The salesman Brian Nowlin was a nice guy, but I have no use for Will Barnes. Car salesmen, lawers and politicians are all crooked. STAY AWAY FROM RICK CASE MAZDA!!!! Also I probably would not go to any of the other Rick Case dealerships.
Unless you are buying a $2,000-$4,000 car there is no possible way that a dealer buys a car for $5,000 and then sells it for $10,000. I am a dealer and this does not happen. Even if it does for some reason a dealer can ask what he wants and stick to it. You knew the price before heading down. There is no law that says someone cant make as much as they want on a car and that a dealer has to come down on price.
YOU made the decision to come down to the dealer for the advertised price, you need to expect that is what ur gonna pay
Jerry, I worked at a Toyota dealer for over three years. You buy cars at auction for near nothing. Also peoples trade in’s are purchesed at whole sale or auction price. There is way more profit made on a used car then a new one. Sorry to burst your bubble but car salesmen are ripoff artists. Why dont you mind your business next time since this review does not have anything to do with you!
buy cars for next to nothing yea if you want a piece of crap car…. what do you think you get a 3 ye old camry for $5000 – yea you worked at a toyota dealer as what a janitor
Jerry you are such a bitter and pathetic person. I worked in the service department if its any of your business. I KNOW THE GAMES YOU PEOPLE PLAY, SO PISS OFF!
I WILL NEVER GO TO THIS DEALERSHIP EVER AGAIN, EVEN FOR AN OIL CHANGE. THEY HAVE NO INTEGRITY AT ALL, THEY ARE RUDE, THEY ARE INCOMPETENT AND RECKLESS. BROUGHT MY CAR SEVERAL TIMES AND EVERY TIME THEY CLAIM TO FIX IT, THAT PARTICULAR THING THEY “FIX” BECOMES THE BIGGEST PROBLEM ON THE CAR. THEY MADE A CHECKLIST OR WHATS RIGHT ON THE CAR AND MARKED EVERYTHING RIGHT WITHOUT EVEN CHECKING IT. I THINK THEY WERE TAKING ADVANTAGE OF ME BECAUSE I AM A WOMAN. I HAD CHOSEN TO GO PAY MORE AT A DEALERSHIP FOR WHAT I THOUGHT WOULD BE HONEST SERVICE. bUT i LOST BOTH MONEY AND TRUST.
I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND RICK CASE MAZDA SERVICE TTO ANYONE IN HEAVEN OR IN HELL. THE SUPPORT STAFF WAS VERY RUDE. WHEN THEY PROMISE TO RETURN YOUR CALL THEY NEVER DO. I HAVE RETURNED MY CAR THREE TIMES AND ON THE THIRD VISIT EVERYONE SEEMED TO JUST WANT ME TO GET AWAY, RUDE TREATMENT, GIVEN A LESS THAN FULL TANK OF GAS AND THEY WANTED ME TO RETURN IT FULL…I CANT EVEN IMAGINE HOW THEY HAVE SURVIVED IN BUSINESS WITH SUCH INCOMPETENT PEOPLE BOTH IN CUSTOMER SERVICE AND TECHICAL SERVICE.
Great sales and finance team. We will refer to our friends.:p:D;)
Michale was very friendly and easy going throughout the entire purchase. He provided a low pressure environment and I was bale to contact him at a moments notice with any questions or concerns about my car. I enjoy my new car and glad to have not been through a dreadful experience.
Marvin is an extremely friendly and personable individual. He makes you feel comfortable and at ease. The entire staff is nice and helpful. It was a pleasure to meet and work with Marvin to purchase a vehicle to transport our family.
I agree about Marvin. I’d never buy a Mazda from anyone else. He is always smiling and will go to bat for you. no nonsense good guy.
