Basically my wife and I walked in to purchase two 2012 Hyundai Elantras. They let us walk for $500.00 per car. We proceeded to purchase two new cars at Bernardi Hyundai 45 minutes later for $1000.00 less. It must be nice to be able to let a $42000.00 purchase walk out the door.
Bad Dealer. They promissed me the price over the phone; I placed a deposit on it over the phone. Drove 2 hours through traffice to get there. They renegged on the deal asking me for $1300 more than agreed on over the phone when I got there.
The owner could have supported me but she chose to perpetuate the dishonesty. With little or no business savvy, this woman has earned her dealership a severe case of negetive feedback. Unfortunately she decided to try out her “complaint management training” instead of doing the right thing.
In the end it was a collosal waste of time and a rather upsetting experience. I even made consessions to preserve my time investment however they were just too self centered to see reason.
Do not trust this dealer.
It saddens me that I feel a need to post this feedback. I usually only post possitive comments and believe that there is good in everyone. Too bad. Maybe they will learn from their mistake.
STAY AWAY.
I went into the dealership in Seekonk to look at an Elantra. The sales person from the internet kept calling me to make an appt. to come test drive a vehicle. They were having a weekend promotion where they will triple your rebate. When I got there, the sales person was fine. He was courteous and helpful. I test drove a couple of the cars. When it came to the financing, that was a whole different story. I was trading in my 02 Honda as a down payment for the car. They wanted to give me a 1000 for it. Ok, no big deal. I looked at the prices on the internet, and they were about 11,000-15,000 for a new Elantra. When I got to Hyundai, the prices for this car were in the 22,000 range. So, they jacked up the prices to give you the promised rebates they offered for the weekend “SPECIAL.” That was hog wash right there. I already told them I didn’t have great credit. I understand the interest rate for problem credit is higher than if you have a good score. When all was said and done, they wanted to charge me 429 a month for 72 months. Add that up, and that equals about 30,000 for an Elantra. So I would have been paying DOUBLE the listed price, which was jacked up in the first place. I then went to an Accent, thinking the price would be lower since there was a 5,000 difference in the total price for the car. Nope! It went down to 409 a month. There final offer to me was 399 a month, and because I didn’t put down the sales tax for 1300, they upped the price to 410 a month for 72 months. Even at 300 a month for 72 months, this would have been about 21,000 for the car which was suppose to cost 14,000 with all the rebates and the trade. still a 7,000 profit. Watch out for these so called deals. I have two friends who fell into this trap. They were told they could re finance in a yr with a bank or credit union. That won’t happen because the car is so depreciated, and the loan is so high, they won’t touch it. You have to have debt to ratio for them to pay off the loan and refinance you. I am just putting this up here for others who might fall into this trap of promises when no one is doing you any favors. Add up the 400 a month plus full coverage insurance and you have your self another rent you can’t get out of for 6 years. Buyer beware!
I work for a company based on Route 1 in Norwood… smack dab in the middle
of the Norwood Automile and surrounded by a slew of new and used car dealers.
I took the trip to Pride Hyundai in Seekonk on the recommendation of a friend and was not disappointed. The deal was offered and accepted within an hour of me stepping into the Showroom. The Sales Manager and the Salesman were both professional and courteous, not high pressure types. I had done a ton of research on the different Hyundai models and was prepared when I went there, and I believe that the Salesman and Sales Manager were impressed by the depth of my knowledge and interest, which resulted in a relatively seamless transaction when we put pencil to paper to negotiate price.
