I dont usually write reviews because I expect good service when I go to a Luxury car dealer. Well, the service at Bergen Jaguar better than good or great, it is exceptional! I have been to Ray Catena, White Plains and Montclair Jaguar and Bergen jaguar is by far superior. Philip has always taken care of me for service, he always goes above and beyond to make sure my ‘baby’ is well taken care of. Do not hesitate for a moment about bringing your car into Bergen Jaguar, they are the Best!
I actually bought my car through Angelo, the manager of the Madison dealership but that was because he was my salesman for my first car when he worked at Bergen Jaguar and I was loyal to him. The truth is that if it wasn’t for Tim (head of service) I would have long ago left and gone to another dealership when looking to purchase a used car with specific requirements and I was the one who kept calling him to remind him that I was eager to purchase a car. He never called me back and Tim was the one who kept me from going elsewhere. He is a caring service manager and always tries to do what he can to correct any probems. I have not been happy with my navigation system (though I believe that has been corrected) or with my bluetooth (the worst I have ever encountered) but those are systems outside of their control and are manufacturing issues. The staff that works under Tim could not be nicer and the attention is personal. Every person knows my name and greets me in the most friendly manner as though they are delighted to see me. No doubt the attitude of the employees is determined by the expectations of those at the higher level but the one that stands out the most is Elayne. I have spent a great deal of time in the reception area and have always been impressed by how much she knows about each person who comes to pick up their car and always asks if they have any questions. I was so dissatisfied with the service and attitude of the service advisors before the dealership was sold to the current owner that I took my car to Montclair for service in spite of the fact that I live 10 minutes from Paramus and 40 minutes from Montclair. I had never met Tim back then (1990-96) but when I was telling him the story I was surprised to find that he had been the service manager there.
I would and do recommend Bergen Jaguar because of the service department which tries to make it as pleasant an experience as possible.
I always dreamed of owning a Jaguar since I was young. I found an X-type for sale locally (not a Jaguar dealership) I brought my car in for Service last week and met a fellow named Phil in Service. I just came in for an oil change and wanted to wait for it. I got to watch tv, have a snack, connected to their free Wifi on my laptop… it was great! Phil brought me outside to show me an oil leak and few small problems that he recommends repairing (I did take care of the oil leak and I am going back for the other recommendations soon) I don’t know how the Sales Department is to deal with but my Service experience was outstanding! Thank you Phil and the staff at Bergen Jaguar Service!! 🙂
Every time I visit NJ. have to stop by at dealer and feel at home from Dennis the dealer principal to the one that wash the car, all are nothing but the Greatest.
I have to say, I recently had a veryterrible experience at Bergen Jaguar’s Service department. This was only thesecond time I had work done at Bergen Jaguar, I recently moved to the area andcould no longer drive to my original dealer, Ray Catena. I was told that theservice to my x-type would cost around $350 and that if I found the Jaguarcoupon, the service department would honor it for my 60K service. Two dayslater, without any phone calls from the service department (to tell me my carwas ready), I went back to Bergen Jaguar to pick up my car. I was floored to beshown a $900 bill. I paid the bill and was told that if I found the coupon forthe 60K mile service they would adjust the bill. The next day I called theservice department to explain to them I found the coupon and to please adjustmy bill (I had also requested an estimate to my vehicle for damage and that wasnever provided to me either, but that’s another story.) Not only was theservice person extremely rude to me on the phone, he told me they would nothonor the coupon, he did not care that my previous dealership, Ray Catena,honored the coupon and told me I could take my business elsewhere, in fact hetold me to go back to Ray Catena. Then after I was upset with his remark andrequested he put me through to his manager, he hung up on me. I will never EVERbring my car back for service to Bergen Jaguar, and I will NEVER buy a car fromthem either. I always thought Jaguar had great customer service, after all itis a luxury brand, however after this recent experience I question their overallintegrity at Bergen Jaguar.Â
