I was pressured to obtain an extended service contract when I purchased my used vehicle from this dealership. I was told that I had to have the contract with the vehicle while in financing at the final stages of the purchase process. This was a lie. Also, there was no disclosure of what was NOT covered in the service contract, nor the fact that it was “non-cancellable”. Leif Clinard, Sales Manager at Pikes Peak Acura states that the extended service contract is non-cancellable, however; after investigation by the lender financing my auto loan, it IS completely cancellable – however, it is to the discretion of the dealer. This business is unethical and operates on greed and dishonesty.
We paid cash for a used 97 Chevy Suburban we liked a lot. I am disabled and it fit the bill on putting my chair lift in the back. When we got there the Suburban had more scratches and dents that were disclosed. We were ablew to get them to drop the price. The next day we drove to Colorado Springs and the Suburban died in an intersection. We went back to the dealer and the gen manager Leif was quite rude saying he lost enough money all ready. They had a cheap wire from the alt to the batt causing the prob. So red flag, they do crap work on inspection. They put a new batt and alt in when he prob was just crappy wireing that could have been fixed for less than ten dollars. 12 days after the sell we had only put a few miles on it because we had my chait lift installed. On our way out of Woodland Park Colorado on east bound Hwy 24 the left rear tire and rim flew off the Suburban. it is no brainer the tire was not tightened down properly. There is no argument about sold as is. This is mechanical negligence! So now my Suburban is at the body shop waiting repair. I called the dealership and the Gen. Manager Leif told me they would do nothing and it was my prob. I have contacted an attourny and we have witnesses of what happened. Just be glad you were not hit by the tire youself it could have killed someone or we could have been killed. They did not care at all so now my course of action is to notify everyone to never buy a used vech from this dealer. if I was Leif’s boss he would be fired for the worst customer service ever. I will also contact the news media and report them. The Police, Towtruck driver, my insurance and the body shop all say the dealer Pikes Peak Acura is at fault because the tire was not put on properly. Not only am I going to try and sue these low lifes; not for just money lost but to get the word out there that they could care less if you were the one killed by the tire coming off my Suburban, but I also will file with the Dealer Board in Lakewood Colorado so they know this story. They made it very clear they dont care about the disabled nor anyone else but getting your money and God help you if you need service after the sale. I apologize that you are experiencing the same customer service in regards to this business. It is clear that the GM is apathetic to consumers. The only thing left for me to do is contact a consumer attorney and go to small claims…for $2,000 of MY money on a service contract that I do not want or need. The level of greed at Pikes Peak Acura makes me sick to my stomach. We must keep spreading awareness. DO NOT GIVE UP FOR JUSTICE.
