As of typing this the advertisements for the below automobile are all on line and in multiple places.
Looking over many listings for a very specific used car (Jeep Cherokee) we found a listing we wanted for a spare car/child’s car and made arrangements to drive an hour and 20 min. to Springs to purchase.
Calling first, we verified with the representative that the automobile was available, double checked to be sure. I scheduled the morning off of work, stopped by the bank and withdrew cash from the account to cover the purchase and possible taxes.
Here at this point I was skeptical already as when we called the representative started asking many questions that lead me to believe that they were data mining as well as starting sales filtering, I mentioned this on the call and checked to make sure the advertised product was on the lot.
On arriving in my partner’s Jeep we were greeted by friendly staff and ushered into the building, we informed the greeters who our rep was and instructed to wait. About 15 min later we were told that our rep was unavailable and that the automobile we had come to purchase was not on the lot and had not been on the lot for days.
I prefer to remain stoic and calm in public, and as no real attempt to hook us into a sale had started and everyone had been friendly I was not inclined to show by disgust, disappointment or anger at the time.
So I am then forced to return home, out a morning’s worth of work, gas to drive two plus hours to find out that once again I have been taken in by a typical dealer “Bait-and-switch” with a “lure” advertisement.
Shame on you Dave Solon Kia, the chance to rise above the basement level reputation so aptly deserved in that industry was lost as well as any business I would ever think to provide that direction.
This is in reflection to the sister store that Dave Solon KIA has under them called Solon Pre-owned- I thought the Parent Company, Dave Solon KIA, should know how well their child stores are doing. As well as customers too.
Wow. Just wow. My FIRST visit there- It went well enough- then they needed me to come back in to sign a different paper work- so my wife and I complied. Then, a few weeks later, we contacted our bank, asking to be sure they got the loan processed. It shows up that the dealership never sent the paper in on time, and had some discrepancies. SO we had to go back in and sign the paper works all over again. Guess what? Almost a month later (We had almost two months grace on the first payment due in Dec.) we checked our bank account and were surprised to see the loan still hasn’t gone through. We contacted the bank and they said that Solon still needed some paperwork done. We went back in and signed some more paper work (adjusted interest- only about $1.13 difference), and then thought that was the end of it. About two weeks later, I went to the DMV because the temporary license paper would be expiring in a week. After waiting an hour, I got in and was told they didn’t have the title paperwork from SOLON!!!! I asked DMV to call SOLON and spoke with an Emily. She said to the effect she wasn’t sure if the title was still at SOLON or already turned in. I was told they would reimburse me the cost of getting ANOTHER temporary paper for 30 days which I had to pay there in order to be able to drive the van. If I had to drive from my house to Solon, to pick up the crummy $6 reimbursement, it would almost cost me half that just to pick up the reimburse. Wife called the manager, Tim, and he didn’t even apologize and said to the effect that it was NOT his problem and to talk to Emily. What happened to Customer Service? Is it because I am DEAF and they think they can just walk all over me? On top of this, I need to go back to the DMV next month and get the license plate/title for the van. Another hour at least down the drain and they have done nothing about this. NEVER go there if you want paperwork done right, and get the title/license plates in a timely fashion. Go somewhere else. They will probably screw you and not apologize about it, EVEN MORE if you are disabled. I will NEVER go there again, nor bring my kids to buy from them. Period.
Dave Solon Kia advertised a 2010 Toyota Corolla on its website with a retail price of $12,215 and an internet price of $14,241. I went to the dealership, test drove the car, and was willing to pay the retail advertised price. They would not sell me the car for that price. I had a conversation with the Sales Manager, and he was not willing to sell the car for that price, even though one of his sales people agreed with me when I was at the dealership that they should honor that price. In my opinion, they were deceptive with their advertising.
Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I have read your review and understand your perspective. I would like to take the time to talk to you and clarify the reason for this miscommunication. There was a technical error that was providing incorrect pricing information. Unfortunately, the price that was shown did not reflect the actual value of the car. I would like to apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you, and please contact me so we can work to resolve this situation.
