When the all-new Civic arrives this spring, it will continue to be a standout in the compact segment, with all the value, reliability, sporty performance and efficiency you’ve come to expect from this iconic vehicle. The 2012 Civic will offer an unparalleled level of variety, with standard coupe and sedan models, two sporty Si versions, one hybrid, one natural-gas alternative-fuel variant and an all-new model—the Civic HF. In the tradition of the Civic CRX HF of years past, the new Civic HF has a similar goal of high efficiency with gasoline-only power, delivering a targeted EPA-estimated fuel-economy rating of 41 mpg on the highway[1]. Also delivering on the efficiency front is the all-new Civic Hybrid. With its all-new lithium-ion battery, the Civic Hybrid boosts its mpg numbers significantly with a targeted EPA-estimated city/highway combined fuel-economy rating of 44 mpg[1]. The sleek new Si performs an engineering paradox by enhancing efficiency and performance simultaneously with its torquey new 2.4-liter i-VTEC? engine. The next-generation Civic brings enhanced styling, performance and efficiency across the model range.

I had checked Trueacar.com pricing online and it had connected me to 3 local Honda dealerships; one of which was Ourisman. Having contacted many dealers in the VA/MD area, I had a pretty good ideas what the cost of the 2011 Honda Odyssey. When I contacted Stephanie Dewey via email with a price from a competing dealer, she responded that her manager Sergio Laguna will beat the price by 200.00. Reading the positive review on this dealership, I was excited that not only were they competitive but seems to want my business. I later got an email from Sergio too saying that the car was in stock at the propose price. I response asking again to make sure the on the road price and "CLEARLY" broke down the numbers and said I would come in to make the purchase. Sergio agreed. Well the following day my family came to Ourisman. The dealership was crowded, parking was sparse, and we met Stephanie. I showed her the printed email and was ready to sign. She said she’ll be back. Then some other salesman came out..said he will be taking over. He then rain the numbers and it came out to be 1500.00 more than what Sergio and Stephanie had agreed in the email. After an 1.5 hours with this clown running in and out, another manger came out and said they could’t give me the price. I asked for Sergio and the coward wouldn’t show his face. I will never do business with these people again. Where is the integrity. Not only did they come even close to what they agreed on, they said the car is not even in stock and is "SO" popular that they don’t want to lose money selling it to me. Long story short, we left disappointed and hungry from this bait and switch game. After lunch we stopped at Herson’s and I showed them the email from Sergio. Within 10 minutes they gave me a quote…the number that Ourisman promised and could’t deliver. We are now enjoying our new 2011 Honda Odyssey from Herson’s Honda.
Classic Bait and Switch
We went for a lease opportunity 3 months ago, and at the time, the deal didn’t work out. We got another email 3 days ago inviting us back in to avail of the previous deal owing to some extra “dealer cash” at the end of the month. So we went in and got the deal. After filling the credit application, the salesman gets back saying the credit wasn’t of the “top tier”. So we decided to step away (again). The instant we did this, the manager comes and says that he has some influence with the bank and that he will make the deal…Alright…Great!
Now, here’s the kicker…We got the keys, gave in our trade and were all set…until we sat at the financing table…After explicitly stating in the salesman’s hand written contract that the monthly payment would include all the taxes, titles and tags, the guy at the financing table mentions that this is a “mistake” and that the monthly quote did NOT include all those fees…and that we owed an extra ~$1700!
This whole ordeal lasted between 6 PM to 10 PM. We were in for 4 hours, and no car, even after being promised the deal…that brought us into the dealership in the first place. Upon wanting to talk to the general manager, I was told that I’d have to wait another few minutes, since he was busy (at 10 PM?!?)
The salespeople (Whitman and Sergio) were congenial, as you’d expect from any representative working at a Bethesda establishment…The tactics and the lack of thoroughness (scruples?) is a whole different story…I gave up an evening sailing on the Potomac for this junk of a dealer!
Sorry to hear about you visit to Ourisman. Thankfully you were smart enough to recognize what was going on! 😉 We have purchased several Honda vehicles over the past few years so we have some experience with the many local Honda dealers. Overall, there are several good local Honda dealers offering a combination of solid pricing and customer service. Most of these dealers offer varying degrees of fair sales methods. Unfortunately, we have found two local dealers which we believe are considerably deficient in their selling techniques. These dealers will do everything they can, including bait and switch, to maximize their profit. Obviously these dealers do not offer the best purchase opportunity. As you found out, Ouirsman Honda is one of those dealers. 😡 We too found Mr. Whitman quite friendly. Unfortunately, his friendliness did not translate into a fair deal. Hopefully, your post will cause potential buyers to look beyond Ouirsman for their Honda vehicles. My suggestion to anyone interested in a Honda vehilce is to check the internet for dealer reviews. There is a reason most of the reviews for Ourisman are quite negative.
:eek:This rating is to advise everyone to look elsewhere for a Honda. There is not much good I can say about this dealership. I guess my salesman was a friendly fellow. Sadly, such friendliness does not make up for the shortcomings of Ourisman Honda, in my opinion. Three things stood out for me. First, the vehicle they tried to sell me was very scartched and very dirty both inside and out. Second, they attach a $795 addendum for such expensive things as door mouldings and fender mouldings – which were not even color matched. (My salesman actually admitted this was simply a way for Ourisman to make additional profit – which was obvious.) Finally, there was the overall condition of the dealership. Dirty and claustrophobic. The vehicles were parked so very close to each other, which probably explained the condition of the vehicle they attempted to sell to me. Also, they had the nerve to ask for an additional $1,000 to get an Accord in the color I desired. Hard to explain, when at least two other local Honda dealers (Hersons and Criswell) both had the Accord available in the color I wanted. Why would anyone pay Ourisman an additional $1,000 for a particular color? To me it is clear Ourisman is all about maximizing its profits and not with satisfying its customers. That is reason enough to look elsewhere. Oh, I did purchase my Accord, in the color I wanted, with no damage, and without the unwanted expensive add-ons (it did have color matched door guards which were included at no cost).:(
I went with my family yesterday after getting email confirmation from Ourisman Honda Bethesda,MD that they will match a lease offer($310 a month with absolute 0 down – including tax, tags, fees etc.) I had from a different dealer. When I went they said it is fine, however, they offered me only 12k for my 2007 Odyssey EX(22k mile) which is in great condition. Then when I mentioned that it was a ridiculous offer, they told me that they had to talk to the General Sales Manager next morning before they can offer a realistic trade value for this van. I agreed.
The manager (Jose) called me in the morning and told me that they will give me 18k for my trade. I told them I wanted 19,500 and he said they could only do upto 18,500 and he could talk to the manager again and see what he can do. He never called and I called the Sales person Roma again to see what is going on. He told me the same thing – that they will still match the other lease offer and give me 18,500 for my trade. I asked him to confirm if he still had the color/model that we looked at last night. He confirmed with a ‘yes’. I reached the dealership within 35 minutes. When he gave me the credit application papers I asked him again to make sure the same color van is available. At that point Roma told me that he did because he didn’t think they sold a van that morning. After I insisted on confirming, he went to check and told me that they actually don’t have that color. However, they can manage to get the same color from the sister company but it will cost a little more because they have to do some re-inspection. I told them I am not going to pay anymore because I asked him before coming and he should have told me then. So this time he came back and told me that they’ll accept the same price we agreed before. So once more I confirmed with him and he agreed that they’ll honor the matching price and trade that they promised before.
Finally, I gave them the credit application so they could run the credit check and we can finish the deal. After the credit check, the manager came back and told me that the sales person gave me incorrect information and that we had to start over. And that is a lie because I was there last night and I gave them all the information including the offer and only then they offered me the trade amount this morning. So there is no way that the manager didn’t know the price I confirmed in advance. I was upset but still patient. He said if you put $500 of the tax and etc. down up front we’ll have a deal. Even though I shouldn’t have offered anymore, I was already fedup with all the time wasting and just said that I’ll put down $200 max. Then he came back and said that we were $900 short of the deal. He just told me $500 and now changed it to $900. This shows how they kept lying and breaking their word. This whole process wasted lot of my time and one credit check. I went with my family including two little kids twice. I believe their practice was extremely deceptive just to get me in the door and they kept lying repeatedly to get more money.
I would advise everyone NOT to buy from these people. Do not deal with sales person Roma Emelev and manager Jose Cuadro – they are very deceptive.
I wanted to state that Orisman Honda dealership (located in Bethesda, MD) is one of the worst dealers I have ever done business with. I would like to caution all the potential buyers to stay away from this dealership especially from the sales guys by the name Robert KU. He is one of the most dishonest sales man I have come across in my entire car buying history.
This Ku guy sends me multiple emails promising me great quotes on Honda Odyssey. Now I go to the dealership and he happens to be busy so he assigns me someone else to help me out with my purchase of the mini van. Once the whole deal is finalized and even the financing is done, this Robert guy comes back and says he cannot honor the deal as he did not like the price I was being offered. Imagine folks this is after the manager has seen and approved the whole deal and my husband and I have already picked the car and signed the sale and financing papers. Needless to say that after wasting 4 hours of our time on a Sunday evening they back out of the deal with as much as an apology. I will have to re-iterate that I have never come across a sales guy more dishonest that Robert Ku. Please stay away from doing any business with this dealership and especially this sales man.
